March Favoritos!! And A Product Update!!!

Hello Lovelies!!

It's that time of the month! Time for favorites! (Though if it is that time for you, I'll send chocolate over!).

A lot of these products I have already blogged about, so I'll include links to reviews!

MARCHFAVORITES!

♥ ♥ ♥

eyess

marcheyess
Stila Stay-All-Day Liner, Maybelline One by One, MAC "Dalliance" and Urban Decay's "SWF"

I am in love with the Stila Stay-All-Day liner because IT DOES JUST THAT. Its a deep black, waterproof, smudgeproof, budgeproof, amazing. It may just be my HG but for $24, well lets just see how long this baby lasts me ;) So far over a month!

I reviewed One by One over huur (click!) and I love it for lengthening and separating! Add "Falsies" for thickness and I get lashes that make drag-queens envious! MAC's Mega Metal shadow in "Dalliance" from the Peacocky collection is a gorgeous green-tinted champagne that has me thinking SPRING! And UD's "SWF" shadow is a beautiful baby-pink with silver shimmer and glitter (but the fallout is minimal! Promise!).

coverthatshytup

I did swatch these but uhm...you couldn't see them! Haha! The Milani HD Advanced concealer is a great drugstore dupe for the YSL TOUCHE ÉCLAT, a yellow-based brightening under-eye concealer! And I also love it for around the nose! And I'm back to my MAC Studio Finish concealer in NW15! I love Erase Paste but I'm extra pale this month!

BLUSHTRIANGLE

FACIALPRODUCTS
(L-R) Stila "Make Me Blush" Blush, Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes in "Amused" and "Flush" and Garnier Dark-Circle Roller.

Come on, are you suprised that the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes made this list?! They're bigger than sliced bread. And now everyone and their mother are all over them! And I have a review right over here (clickie!) for them! The Stila Blush blush (I had to! Haha!) is a total dupe for MAC's "Marine Life" and the dark-circle roller is awesome at concealing and caffenating your under-eye circles!

LIPPIES

lipsonmyarms
(L-R) MAC Sheen Supremes in "Insanely It" and "Full Speed" and Chanel Gloss in "Constellation"

SCREW POKEMON, I've gotta collect all the Sheen Supremes. These 3 products are like the only things to grace my lips this month. Seriously. And that GLOSS?! It pretty much goes with anything, whether its by itself or on top of something! Review for Sheen Supremes are here (click me!) and Chanel gloss is here (click!)!

♥ ♥ ♥

And now I have an important update on the Physician's Formula Lash Booster I blogged about the other day! The next morning and I woke up and my eye was SWOLLEN SHUT. Like we are talking, not be able to really see for most of Saturday. So all of Saturday I was out because of that monstrosity, Sunday my eye was peeling, today I can finally put some makeup on top, but THAT STUFF SUCKS. Please don't buy it! Or buy ANYTHING that has a "lash boosting serum" unless its approved by the FDA (they are a drug!)! Because that's the only thing I can think of that gave me monster-marshmallow eyes!

Here is what one eye looked like today before I put any makeup on! Ugh! PLEASE DON'T BUY IT, LOVELIES!

2 Allergic Reactions. 1 Day.

Hello Lovelies!

I just HAVE to share my experience with a 2 products I picked up YESTERDAY. That was so horrific that it had to be shared. Now, keep in mind, I RARELY have an allergic reaction to anything!

The first? Clean & Clear's Persa-Gel 10 Acne Spot Treatment.

thedevilinatube

For some reason my skin has decided to break out, regular blemishes and painful cystic acne (which I thought I grew out of). So desperate I ran to CVS and got this tube of horror.

I knew it was strong, but with phrases like "DERMATOLOGISTS LOVE IT! BEST THING EVER!", okay not those exact words but words of praise nonetheless, I had to try it. So I dotted it on my face, applied moisturizer and called it a night.

I woke up to a gruesome sight. My skin was RED, RAW, PEELING, BURNING, ITCHING. Yes, lovelies, it felt like it was burning off. To say it was an allergic reaction would be an understatement. Complete understatement.

I couldn't get rid of it! I applied a week's worth of moisturizer and it slightly calmed it down, but all I wanted to do was scratch the rest of my face off.

Lovely, right?

Well did I mention when I was CVS I saw something that looked awesome? Something that had a "TRY ME FREE!" rebate attached and 40% off?!

Enter, Physician's Formula's Lash Boost Eyeliner. Now, I should slap myself. Years ago, I tried one of their mascaras and had a reaction. But this looked so awesome. Its a pen liquid liner with a brush applicator! And there is some BS that there is serum to help your lashes grow.

MORELIKEEYEINFLAMER

6 hours after applying this, my eyelid started to itch. And itch more. I ran to the mirror to see my eye look like an obese cherry tomato. And where was all the swollen goodness by? The lash line! That muffin-fetching liner decided to attack me.

Now why the delay? I have no idea. All I know is that it was the only new product I used. I mean the package says 24-Hour wear on it. So maybe after 6 hours, the lash serum kicks in? No clue. But as I think about it, it did itch a little this morning but I was so consumed with the burning face skin to not differentiate between the two.

So now that I have warned you of these two products which have destroyed my face for the day, I have to ask a question, anything I or any other readers need to fear/watch out for?!

I'm gonna go put a bag of frozen corn on my face.

Website Review! 8ty8Beauty.com!

Hello Lovelies!

My name is Chelsea and I'm addicted to nail polish. Since I gave up makeup for Lent (well I got the Naked palette and a new Revlon liner since mine freaking vanished, I decided to just give up lip-products, which was so hard today when I finally saw the "Papya" lipgloss from Revlon) I have channeled this desire (not addicted) into nail polish.

Can I just say, nail polish is the funnest during spring and summer?! Bright colors! Neons! And I was known at work for my polish, I always had customers complimenting me/intrigued by what graced my short nails.

I love China Glaze polishes, they truly leave my nails feeling stronger after applying. And when they released their "Anchors Away" collection, well it was on top of my list!

See, I have no CG retailers around me, so I thought I'd try 8ty8beauty.com since IT WAS SO CHEAP. Like $2.88 cheap. Compared to $5 with a Sally's card.

That means more polish. Or saving money. Aw damn, you know you're just gonna save that money for more polish!

But here is the deal. It doesn't look too legit, almost a little sketchy. Like I'm thinking windowless unmarked van outside of an elementary school, that kind of sketchy. Now, maybe its because I watch too many Law & Order SVU marathons but I was just hesitant.

But $2.88!! So I caved in. And ordered 4 polishes. Did I mention the price?! Girl (or guy), you can't even get a damn Sally Hanson polish for that cheap!

So I placed my order.

First thing, you won't know exactly how much shipping is until you get your invoice. Which is a little odd.

They are charging a MINIMUM of $7 for shipping rates. Meaning you could buy one $2.88 polish and pay more than double that in shipping. And when I got my package I saw it only cost $4.50 to ship. Hmmm. Now, sure you can argue shipping supplies, but I know a ton of Etsy sellers who offer free shipping, ya dig?

But then again, I don't want to shake this "shipping cost" tree, if it means cheaper polishes, but again....once you think about it.

Next thing, was that I got a separate email asking for my CVV, you know the security code on your credit card. I feel like this is something that should have been asked for DURING checkout, not in an email. I mean, it just doesn't feel right or safe. But $2.88 people!

I placed my order on Friday and got it on Monday. But then again, I live about 2 hours away from where it was shipped. And it was shipped via USPS.

The polishes arrived nicely packaged, surrounded by newspaper, and some in a box, no problems there! But it honestly all comes down to the site.

I am a little skeptic but then I see my pretty new polishes and the money I saved, so its kind of a who knows kinda thing. I've heard some bad things, but for the most part you can count this review as a cautiously-good website! Cheap polishes but high shipping! They also sell salon accessories, ORLY, Essie and Color Club polishes and a ton more!

Maybe a little upgrade on the site? :) And something about the CVV? And lower shipping? That'd be awesome!

Their website can be found here! http://www.8ty8beauty.com/index.html

I SO EXCITED

Hello Lovelies!

When I got my Sephora package today I was more excited than Rebecca Black on a Friday!

I FINALLY GOT THE URBAN DECAY NAKED PALETTE! YEEEES!

Ok, I will admit, when it first came out in the summer I was like "Oh that's nice" and didn't really care but then everyone on YT was raving about it, I got curious. And then come December when everyone was saying it was one of the best new products for 2010, I was anxiously checking Sephora for this baby!

And then last week I got an email it was in stock! I was out so I went on my phone and tried to order it but THE STUPID MOBILE SEPHORA SITE didn't want to process my order. So I cried on the inside and then later that night it was back in stock! You bet your ass I ordered it, NO MORE WAITING!

It is all THAT and a loaf of sliced bread.

Neutral everyday looks, smokey looks, light looks, EVERYTHING. I think it is a necessity for the makeup lover.

You get 12 amazing neutral colors, a Good Karma eyeshadow brush and a mini primer potion! Whaaaaaaaat! I honestly don't care that I got the eyeshadow brush rather than the pencils but its all good!

Anywhozie, this palette keeps going in and out of stock at Sephora.com! I've heard stores are getting them back in! So keep a look out! They're $48 but its an amazing value!

$48 for 12 FULL SIZE shadows that are normally $17 plus a $26 brush? FORTY-EIGHT-FREAKING-DOLLARS FOR $230 WORTH OF PRODUCT FTW.

That is all :)

LOVEEEE!

And then because I needed to spend two more bucks to get free shipping, I got this Precision Pore Cleansing Pad from Sephora Brand. Its the little scruby thing that the L'Oreal 360 Washes have! Except this is pink and doesn't come with a crappy cleanser! Woot, it was $5 :)

The palette is out of stock again, but sign up for email notification at Sephora or Urban Decay!

So lovelies, who has this? Love it? Hate it (how is that even possible?!)? Waiting for it?! Let me know :)

Maybelline One by One Mascara

Hello Lovelies!

You know how Covergirl decided to spin-off their LashBlast mascara like a thousand times? And it they're all pretty much the same exact thing except different color packaging?

Well, when I saw Maybelline was basically doing the same thing with their Volum Express line, I got curious.

tubalicious

First was the Falsies, which I love and raved about before (clickie!) and now is One by One, a defining mascara, claiming to separate each lash and define them!

The brush is oblong, spikey and rubber. Because of the shape and little spikes, they get in between every lash, coating them. I can definitely tell there is some definition but what I find more noticeable is the length! Like, we are talking almost to the brow-bone long!

onebyoneapplicator

I haven't noticed too much clumping because of the applicator, so if I do get any clumps, I just wiggle the brush a little bit and works itself out!

I'll let the pics do the rest of the blogging ;)

If I had a fresh tube of Falsies I'd totally layers these for long, thick lashes!

MAC Sheen Supreme Lipsticks!

Hello Lovelies!

I am going to admit something, I have loathed lipsticks as of late, only buying gloss. But that all changed when everyone on YouTube was raving about MAC's newest launch, the Sheen Supreme lipsticks.

saymynamesaymyname

Imagine a lipbalm, a lipgloss and a lipstick did the dirty....wait nevermind..I could do another scenario but it just doesn't seem appropriate. Imagine a lipbalm, gloss and lipstick were put in a magic bedazzled blender and Sheen Supremes came out!

There we go! Way less graphic and biological!

sexypackaging

These babies are amazing. Super moisturizing, apply like a lipstick and shine like a gloss. BUT I'm gonna take it a step further, "Insanely It" also gently stains my lips.

LAVENDER LOLLIPOPS, THESE GO THERE!

swATCHSHEEn
"Full Speed" on top and "Insanely It" on bottom

They're creamy, extremely pigmented and just wonderful. I may just eventually get them all. Like nothing else. NOTHING!

And packaging is so sexy, a sleek shiny black container. MAC seriously hit a homerun. Or as Michael Kay, the Yankees' play by play man, would say "SEE YAA! THAT ONE IS OUTTA HERE!"

I picked up 2 colors, a classic bright pink (a signature color for moi!) and a coral (which my collection lacks!).

"Insanely It" is a breath-taking bright magenta hot pink with blue undertones. It is stunning. It even has some shimmer. Ahfreakingmazing. If you have cool undertones, this will do wonders with the slight blue-tint, as well as make your teeth look whiter!

insanelyit

"Full Speed" is a beautiful coral with a golden sheen. Its not too pink nor too orange, its an amazing coral. I can see this being a must-have for summer since coral is already a hot color but also because the gold sheen in it just reminds me of a sunny summer day!

fullspeed

So these get an A+ from me! I know some people say they find these drying, but if you do, I suggest using a light lipbalm like EOS and apply a thin layer! My naked lips love these! And they're $14.50 a pop, the same price as MAC's regular lipsticks and glosses!

These can be found at MAC's stores and their website, as well as counters in select department stores such as Macy*s and Nordstrom!

Have you tried any of these? Let me know! Or any of their colors tickle your fancy ;) ?

Chanel Glossimer in "Constellation"

Hello Lovelies!

I never once thought that I would ever buy anything Chanel. Its just too much money! So obviously, the only reason why I even ended up at a Chanel counter was because something got into me and lured me to Nordstrom.

I mean, really, $28.50 for a gloss? Well, was it at least worth it?

My lips say yes.

This little beauty, in the color "Constellation" is like nothing that I have ever seen. Its a sheer golden pink gloss, nothing to shell $28 out for but then there is the GLITTER.

Its like a pastel rainbow exploded inside. Pastel pink, blue, green, yellow shimmer in this gloss and it just adds this exquisite little something. And its not one of those glitters where you have to hold it at a certain angle to see it, its RIGHT THERE. No moving your head in a certain light to see it!

Yet, its a pain in the ass to photograph. Most of the pics are blurry and horrible but they capture the glitter, as best as I could!

I don't find the formula sticky and I find it a little moisturizing, I say that because it doesn't settle into the lines of my lips, rather fill them in.

But, Chanel, for the love of spending so much money on a gloss, WRITE THE DAMN NAME on the gloss. I'm not a fan of the numbering system.

Final verdict? You are getting 0.19 oz of product which is a good amount. I am justifying it like this, a full size Stila lip glaze is $22 for 0.08 oz of product...ya dig?

It does look amazing over any lipstick! Its a great color, even more so for Spring! I'm gonna say check it out! It is expensive, but it may just be lip love!

WARNING: WORST PHOTOS EVER! SUPER BLURRY, I KNOW! :) Just trying to capture the awesomeness, the lip swatches do NO justice!

TOP 12 EYESHADOWS!

Hello Lovelies!

I thought it'd be fun to do a blog post on my top 12 eyeshadows! Why 12? Because I did 4 swatches on my hand and I didn't want to have 2 pics of 4 swatches and one of 2, it just bothered me! So booonus!

Most of these are MAC and thats because I love their formula and when you have a palette, pan-shadows run $11. Otherwise the shadows are $14. But I love them!

All shadows are on my bare skin, no primer or base of any sorts! And my skintone is NW15 :)

Sorry some are cut off! Click on the photo for full-size!!!

1through4

1. MAC "Phloof" this is a frosty off-white-but-almost-white and I ADORE this in the inner corner of my eye and as a bright highlight! Makes such an awakening effect!
2. MAC "Dazzlelight", a new one for my collection, but this color is freaking GORGEOUS! Its another soft-bright-off-white but has a pink chrome-opal-ness to it! It is amazing, and I usually wear it all over!
3. MAC "Shroom", guess what? Another off-white-pale-beige with shimmer, I love this as a shimmery highlight or even all over!
4. MAC "All That Glitters", aaah my first MAC shadow! Beautiful peachy-light-brown. It has shimmer and almost some bronze sheen. Universally beautiful color! On my second one!

5through8

5. MAC "Naked Lunch", a beautiful champagne with a strong pinkness to it, a little sheer, but a must-have and a go-to shadow for me! On my second one! Woot!
6. LORAC "Star Quality", BEACH SANDY BLONDE. That is all. If MAC "Retrospeck" wasn't so messed up and weird, this would be it!
7. Stila "Kitten", another amazing champagne but more bronze/gold, I do find that I have some fall out with it!
8. Urban Decay "Sin", I know no one has cared about this shadow until it came in the Naked Palette, but since I couldn't find the Naked Palette, I bought single! Its a beautiful straight up champagne. Uhmm can you guess my favorite eyeshadow color family?

9through12

9. MAC "Woodwinked", Awesome bronze-deeper-brown! Amazing for blue eyes!
10. MAC "Grain" is a mattish-medium-brown, I usually wear it all over or in the crease for a subtle definition!
11. MAC "Haux", my favorite crease color! A darker-plumier-brown. Its gorgeous for the crease and isn't that dramatic but adds something!
12. MAC "Sable", a darker shimmery version of "Haux" but a little bit more plum! Again, I'll wear this all over or just the crease!

Rant & A Haul

Hi Lovelies!

So, another haul! Yay tax-return season! But alas, I have decided to give up buying makeup for Lent. Though I have been told I can't since I bought all this yesterday, Ash Wednesday. But it was that or skip stats class and shop instead.

Which probably would have been more productive than that class.

Other things that are more productive than my Stats Class:
  • Hoola-hooping
  • Shark-whispering
  • Organizing my socks alphabetically
  • Watching CSPAN
  • Cutting the grass with scissors
  • EVERYTHING
I digress. Time for le haul. As always, let me know if you want a review on any particular item!

tealthecowsturnred
Ok, I'm officially obsessed with OPI since I can find them for $6. Left is "Teal the Cows Come Home" and "Big Apple Red" which is the perfect blue-based cherry red for fair/light skins with cool undertones!

Chanel Glossimer in "Constellation". I had no intention on even going to Nordstom but somehow I got sucked in and was completely delirious when I got this. But its GORGEOUS. Its like a sheer-pink with pastel-multi-colored-sparkle. SO PRETTY!

macalicious
From MAC I got "Dalliance" and "Dazzlelight" eyeshadows, Super Slick Liquid Liner in "On The Hunt" (black) and 2 of their new Sheen Supreme lipsticks in "Full Speed" and "Insanely It".

swATCHSHEEn
Sheen Supreme in "Full Speed" on top and "Insanely It" on bottom. Freaking loving these. Super pigmented lipgloss-lipstick hybrids!

Since Maybelline's "One by One" mascara was on everyone's February Favorites, I had to snag it up at Target! And the Garnier roller ball undereye thing was on sale at CVS and I had some extra bucks!

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blushes

Hello Lovelies!

I have had a new obsession. BLUSH. Now, my whole beauty life, my mom and grandma always told me that we don't need blush. Because we are naturally fair and flushed. I remember when I first started wearing makeup and experimenting with blush, my mom had asked me if I had a fever. So since then, I've been careful. But more and more, I'm picking blush up! It just ties the look together and gives me some color!

The other day while in Sephora, I picked up one of Tarte's new long wear Amazonian clay blushes. Only because the MUA raved about it. And I am SO glad she did!

Whatisitheader

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour blushes are blushes that are natural and long wearing blushes named after some of their most sought after cheek and lip stains.

Here is the real dealio, according to Tarte (ok I really wanted to write Tart-eo):
"Infused with natural clay harvested from the banks of the Amazon River and naturally baked by the sun, this nutrient-rich blush benefits all skin types for a fade-free flawless finish for an amazing 12 hours. Inspired by Tarte's best-selling shades of cheek stains and lip tints, the colors range from soft to vivid to suit a wide variety of skintones. For oily skin types, Amazonian clay minimizes oil in and around pores to balance skin and keep product in place. Those with dry skin will benefit from the clay's nourishing and hydrating properties, which naturally restore skin's moisture. Combination skin types can rely on its ability to zero in on skin concerns and deliver benefits to restore complexion harmony. The result? Blush that wears better, longer, and truer!"

Dayuum, that's a lot!

How about we just stick with super pigmented-long wearing-good for you-blushes?

frontaaal
("Flush" on left and "Amused" on right)

Formulatextureheader

The formula on this is very soft and richly pigmented. They're quite easy to apply, but just the tinniest bit harder to blend. I only say this because the rich pigmentation will just stay wherever you put it.

I have two colors, "Flush" and "Amused" and I have to admit something. The color range is pretty typical, with the exception of "Blushing Bride" and maybe "Flush", there is nothing unique. But that's fine! I think we get so used to glittery-shimmery-multi-dimensional blushes that we forget the basics. Most of them are vivid, matte colors.

"Flush" is a GORGEOUS deep plum color and somehow, it works on me! I honestly think this could work on anyone. I'm as pale as paper and it works and looks amazeballs, but the MUA who showed it to me, was very, very deep and beautiful and looked wonderful on her too! It looks super scary but it is just so damn pretty!

"Amused" is a classic vibrant-blue-pink. Not a "OMG I'VE NEVER SEEN THAT BEFORE!" color but its a staple. And it LASTS all day. You're other vibrant-blue-pink can't do that!

Speaking of lasting color, this seriously lasts ALL day! I was running all over Manhattan yesterday and it didn't fade! Even the swatches I made from Sephora (when I was picking up "Amused"!) stayed on my hands, through multiple hand sanitizer applications and hand washings (seriously, a must when you ride the subway).

27ridgez

blushswatches
("Flush" on left and "Amused" on right, this photo does no justice!)

packagingheader

The packaging is sleek and cute. The case matches the blush inside, which is a huge help when trying to find one of these! The front features the Tarte logo and a pretty leafy-scroll design.

Inside is a BIG mirror and the blush itself is quite pretty! Etched in (I think that's the right term, since it isn't an overlay design and is actually a part of the blush) is scene-scape of the Amazon river surrounded by jungle awesomeness. Super pretty and I love companies that make extra effort to make something extra special!

bitchin
("Flush" on left and "Amused" on right)

overallheader

Overall, you're gonna be hearing A LOT more about these little beauties! Because I'm sure they're gonna be a hit! Its not just a vibrant blush but also a blush that really will push the 12 hour mark.

If you don't believe me, swatch one. You'll see that its not going anywhere! While these are a little on the pricey side, they're beyond worth it because of the fact that a little goes a loooooong way! Just a small swirl on the brush (I love Sigma's F40) and you're good!

Final Grade: A!

I just wish they had more colors!
