Major Headache

I'm going to be entering my third year of COLLEGE.

And I feel like an idiot.

All through high school, I wanted to be a sports journalist. Then at orientation for college, I changed my mind and switched my major to Criminal Justice and then to Law and then back to Criminal Justice and then last year to Forensics.

That is what I want to do with my life. But I feel so late to make a dramatic change!

I was making a copy of my class schedule for this year and I couldn't help but feel like a failure! Intro to Bio? Intro to Chem? FRESHMEN CLASSES! But I'm supposed to be a JUNIOR.

I feel like I waited to long to change my major! I know I want to do this but I'm just so freaked out I'll never finish school! Its not until this upcoming semester that I'll be taking major related courses. I mean I'm not even in CALCULUS, I'M A 3RD YEAR AND PRECALC.

I feel like for being a forensics major, I should have already memorized the periodic table of elements and tackle the most difficult math problems! And should have so much more knowledge!

I mean granted, my minor is Criminal Justice and I'm done with that and I have had such great CRJ classes, but I just feel like I shouldn't feel this lost so late!

Maybe I should have done community college for 2 years and then transferred instead of doing all this discovering at a private and pricey university. But 2 years ago, I was not the same person. I was Chelsea the girl who can't stand blood and wants to write about the Yankees. Now I'm Chelsea the girl who has gotten an iron stomach and wants to work in a lab dealing with things that would have made me pass out.

But 2 years ago, I knew I got into a great school that was great for my major. And thank goodness, my school is still awesome since I changed my major.

I don't know, I just feel so late in the game. And down. I mean I'm only 20. But I always wanted to finish in 4 years. AND THEN GRAD SCHOOL. Ugh!

What's In My Purse?! Revisted!

Hello Lovelies!

So I was reading one of my gossip mags/tabloids/guilty pleasures and I saw they had a "What's In My Bag" thing with someone who I don't know. So I thought I'd do a new what's in my purse! I love these!

Inside my MBMJ Pretty Little Nylon Hobo in Black, which is probably my most favorite purse eveeer!

• Wallet full of nothing! Actually I have too many debit cards with not enough money on them. Including one to an account I haven't even opened!
  
• ID Case attached to my keys, for my school and work IDs and whatever else
• Pink Swiss Army Knife + Mini Mag Flashlight = Must Haves!
• Don't carry a makeup bag but I do carry a little mirror, chapstick, whatever lip product I'm wearing that day and, of course, bandaids that look like crime scene tape and hand sanitizer
  
• Sunglasses that are not prescription meaning, they're useless for when I need to, I don't know, SEE.
• A purse hook, because that is how I roll, with a germ free purse (kinda, not really), Its the crystal thing, totally subtle.
• People and US Weekly magazines because they're guilty pleasures and I always start an article at work and then HAVE to finish it and thus buy it.
• Altoids because I don't do gum.
  
• Planner because I like plans
• iPod Touch (whatever the newest is) because I like to touch my iPod? And 2 pairs of headphones: one a good pair the other the crap ones my iPod came with!
  
• LG Dare cellphone, which looks like a brick compared to everyone else's phones.
• Pink glittery coin purse
  
• Pink blinged out pen that was in Staple's little "bling" display. I know, how awesome and gaudy are bedazzled office supplies?!
  

And Max wanted to say Hi! Actually he is tired. So probably a "SERIOUSLY, I WANNA GO TO BED"

Return Of The Pocket Rocket!! And Magic Lids!!

Hello Lovelies!

What, a beauty post?! I know, its been forever!! But I got a few products that I wanted to share!!

If you're an avid reader of the blog, then you know I've reviewed both Urban Decay's Pocket Rocket Lipgloss (link here: Click!) and Urban Decay's Primer Potion (link here: Click!). So for those full reviews check those out!

Anyways! I recently bought UDPP in "Sin" and UD's Pocket Rocket in "Eric".



First, the UDPP! I loved the original and had to order a new one so I figured I'd try it out in "Sin". Its a shimmery champagne color and enhances and adds shimmer to your eyeshadow while protecting it from creasing.

It can be too shimmery and a hot mess if you use too much, even more so when you use an already shimmery shadow. But just a small dab will do the job and not cause a glitter bomb.



Plus, it looks gorgeous all by itself! For a little wash of color!



It looks a lot like MAC's Bare Study paintpot but lasts all day and doesn't crease when on its own. (Don't mind the mascara smudges took this right before I went to work today)!

Overall: A- Its a great, product but just need to be aware that too much can make a mess! Really enhances your nude shadows!

Now onto UD's Pocket Rocket in "Eric" it is a super juicy red but completely wearable for everyday. It gives my lips a "oh, I just had a red Popsicle " red. Its not a harsh red, very subtle and almost innocent.



And like my other UDPR it makes my lips look awesome, fuller and juicy!



Overall: A- again! Only because I wish it was more pigmented but then again my lips are overly pigmented.

And now a bonus mini haul, because well, I haven't blogged in a while!!


This is why I have been not buying makeup! You're looking at my last 3-4 weeks paychecks and I have more on the way...books have been extra expensive this year!


And I got some new bags for school. The left is a Vera Brady large duffel in "Very Berry Paisley" and the right is my new school bag from Juicy Couture I scored from Zappos!

I know I have been slacking!! Got my computer back then the power cord went...oy! At least its happened before the school year started!!

1. Do you have any pets? A golden retriever named Max! Or Maxwell, or Maxine, or Maximus or Maxipad. And there is a rumor that we have some fish.
2. Name 3 things that are physically close to you. TV remote (watching Project Runway, ugh I hate the 90 min episodes, its dragging!), my laptop which I'm blogging on and a phone.
3. What's the weather like right now? Humid, muggy and its been thundering on and off!
4. Do you drive? If so have you crashed? I am 20 and have an expired learner's permit! Haha, so nope to both!!
5. What time did you wake up this morning? At 6 am Max wanted to get out of my room (had my AC on last night so he was locked in) but I had the day off so 9 am! Woot!
6. When was the last time you showered? This morning!
7. What was the last movie you saw? Toy Story 3 in 3D haha!
8. What does your last text message say? "Aww ur having bad luck with that" from BFF Alexa regarding my laptop haha

10. Have you ever been to a different country? Canada and the Netherlands, I'm mostly Dutch so I went there to get in touch with my Dutch side and family!
11. Do you like sushi? Never had, though I hear we sell great sushi at work...
12. Where do you buy your groceries? Stop and Shop, DUUUH. Gotta get that discount and its awesome ;) And Key Foods once I'm at school. DON'T STALK ME NOW!

14. How many siblings do you have? An older brother and sister (way older, 11 and 9 years older respectively) and a step-sister and brother-in-law.

A Promise

So the other day I was skimming beauty blogs and I saw a huge legal disclaimer where the owner of the blog stated that they are confiscated for products and that their opinions can be paid.

Seriously?

I started this blog a yearish ago because I was so enthralled with the beauty world, thinking I wasn't alone when it came to the love of makeup and girly things. I never thought such a place existed. But since I lack the ability to record YouTube videos, I figured a blog full of photos could work.

And to this day, I am excited that people actually read this, comment and are just awesome.

But lately, I just haven't felt that beauty community love.

The Beauty Community (which now on will be called BC) has become a joke. Very few people are honest. No longer are girls gushing about some of their favorite things they just picked up and letting us know great deals. But now, everyone is endorsing something.

If I wanted to watch an infomercial I'd watch a cable channel at 4 AM. No longer is the BC a community its a filthy, greedy place.

Of course, there are exceptions but there are also some major people who are, well, consumer whores who overshadow the good of some people. And there are still TONS AND TONS of amazing people out there!

Now these consumer whores are making six figures from selling themselves out. What kind of role model is that?!

It is DESPICABLE to see these girls make hundreds of thousands while most of America is making less from doing LEGIT work.

How is it that these fake girls are whoring out tongue scrapers on the internet and making major money while the rest of the work is working real jobs, with real hard labor but not making more?

Its just bothered me lately and why I haven't been blogging much.


But I want you to know right now, a promise I have for you.

I will tell you the truth and nothing but the truth. I will not deceive you. I'm an actual normal girl who is working her ass off to support not only a love of makeup, but an education (which comes first). I think its shameless and disgusting what some "gurus" do.

And yes I do feel the need that I have to share this before I start getting back into actual beauty blogging. Because I feel too many people are hiding behind smokescreens and being dishonest. And I want you to know, that any opinions I share are mine.

I would never pull such bullshit. I don't want anyone who is following me to have to scroll through my post first to see if I have a disclaimer and some BS about how I am honest but compensated.

That's just wrong.

I love that so many people are reading my blog and I want to return the favor by telling you know that I am not gonna sell myself out. Well, unless Tampax is willing to pay for my educational expenses until I graduate with a doctorate...then I'd probably have to say BEST FUCKING TAMPONS EVAAAAAAAAAH!!! And get some kind of tattoo honoring them but thats just freaking weird.

But all joking aside, please know you can trust me! I mean come on, this is LEGALLY Strawberry Blonde!!

And now I feel like I can start beauty bloggin again! Phew!

Still most of the BC are honest, awesome girls (and some guys!) but its just the major ones who ruin the name of all things beauty blogging!

Oh, Crap Not Again

Guess whose computer is once again in the hands of Geek Squad? And double guess whose computer is no longer under any warranty meaning repairs will cost hundreds of dollars?

Yup, me. My POS HP's screen broke yet again. And this time, its all out of warranty and coverage and is gonna stab my wallet in the heart (its a very cute wallet too). So I decided that since having a working laptop is essential to my academic life (well those are the words that I used to my parents) and I cannot afford going 6-7 weeks without one during the academic year, I decided that if the repairs are above $250ish, that I'll just replace the POS. Because seriously its been serviced multiple times for the same problem.

So that'll mean that not only do I have to spend hundreds on textbooks but now (probably) a new computer too. And I need to get a few things before the school year starts. Fab.

And for some reason, many people at my job are getting a major cut in hours. I went from 30 hours down to 15. I worked 7 hours just yesterday...which is half the hours I'll work all next week.

But at least before I got hit by this financial storm, I did score a cute new tote bag for school from Juicy and stocked up on some China Glazes.

Nonetheless, being a grown up sucks.

Oh cute, Max (my 6 year old golden retriever) just opened the door to my room to lay down by me. Which reminds me, why am I up so early on a day off?!

And seriously, what was the point of this blog post?! I do have plans for some more posts soon!

Summaaaah TV

So I was thinking about what to blog about. And thinking. And thinking. So I thought I'd do something completely random: MUST WATCH SUMMER TV.

Because when you're on your feet all day working, nothing feels as good as your back unwinding into the couch and a good show on!

And luckily I have a DVR so I'm always up on the know on my favorite Summer Shows!

Psych: Starts tonight! FAVORITE show, its hilarious and I quote it all the time. Its like the Mentalist except it came first and the Mentalist is a cheap Chinatown knockoff that somehow gets more credit but believe me ITS SO MUCH BETTER. Its just an amazing show!

Real Housewives of New Jersey: The only "Housewives" installment I watch because well, I know the area and 80% of my family lives in Jersey so it makes it even better. AND OMG IS DANIELLE NOT A PSYCHO PROSTITUTION WHORE?! Seriously, I just can't imagine what is going on in her mind! Guilty pleasure and seriously addicting. Team Manzo + Teressa!

Pretty Little Liars: Ok, this show is just horribly awesome and addicting. Its like if the Gossip Girls killed someone and are trying to hide it and someone knows about it and they don't know who that someone is! And if one of them was sleeping with her teacher, another with her sister's ex-fiance and another who is sexually confused and another who is trying to be pure for her BF. Oh yeah, did I mention, THEY KILLED A GIRL?! Addicting.

Secret Life of The American Teenager: Adrian is a slutty slutty slut slut. There is just too much drama. Sisters sleeping with their sister's baby daddies, sluts sleeping with geeks as revenge then getting sperminated, just too much! Horrible acting but again addicting. Damn you ABC Family!
